Spend Kaspa

Spend Kaspa

Kaspa is meant to be spent (and saved)!

With Kaspa, you can buy gift cards at CoinsBee. There are over 700 types of gift cards, including Amazon, Paypal, Apple, Visa, and Mastercard.

You can also use CoinPal. This allows you to deposit Kaspa directly to your CoinPal account and use it as a virtual credit card. The CoinPal Virtual Crypto Card operates similarly to a conventional credit card. However, instead of drawing funds from a bank account, you'll load the card from your crypto wallet. The crypto will be converted to US dollars on your card. Once you've funded your card, you're all set to use it wherever Visa is accepted. Utilize the CoinPal Virtual Crypto Card to complete international transactions in USD.

PayPal has expanded its services to include the ability to buy, sell, hold, and transfer cryptocurrencies. This feature is integrated directly into users' PayPal accounts, eliminating the need for third-party exchanges. Right now, they have not listed Kaspa yet, however you can use CoinsBee to purchase a PayPal gift card.

Right now, Tangem and VISA are partnering to create TangemPay. When it is released, you can spend Kaspa using a Tangem wallet anywhere that accepts VISA.

Kaspa Wallets

Kaspa Wallets

BEFORE you start buying Kaspa, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you FIRST get a wallet. Don’t buy Kaspa unless you have somewhere to securely store it. DO NOT leave your funds on an exchange. Getting a wallet is STEP ONE.

Securing and Storing Kaspa:

Whether you are looking for hard storage or cold storage, Kaspa can be stored securely in the following wallets:

  • Tangem Wallet (Recommended)
Many say Tangem is their favorite cold storage wallet! It is recommended that you buy the 3-card set because if you lose your passcode or one of your cards, you can still retrieve your funds. As long as you have 2 of your 3 cards, you will always have control of your wallet. Hide each of your three cards. DO NOT keep 2 of them in the same location. If a thief steals 2 of the cards, they will have access to your funds. Tangem wallet cards are the same size as a typical debit/credit card. Once you receive them in the mail, scan the provided QR code and follow the three easy steps, and you will be all set! When you visit Tangem.com to buy your 3-card set, be sure to use PROMO code LEQMJY for 10% discount.
  • Zelcore
  • Kasware Wallet
  • Kaspa Next Gen Wallet
  • Desktop Wallet (KDX)
  • Ledger with Kasvault
  • Goldshell Wallet (this is a cold storage wallet)
  • and more!

If you don't have a wallet, then anyone (hackers, exchanges, manipulators) can take your money. It is recommended you get a wallet before you buy Kaspa so you have somewhere to put your Kaspa after you purchase it. If you don't have the keys to your wallet, then your coins are not really yours. Crypto wallets offer more control over digital currency than a standard account at a crypto exchange or brokerage. Crypto wallets allow users to keep their crypto safe.

A crypto wallet is a device or program that stores cryptocurrency keys and allows users to access their digital currency. Crypto wallets can be used to store, send, receive, and spend cryptocurrency.

How it works

  • A crypto wallet stores the private keys and address needed to sign cryptocurrency transactions
  • Anyone who knows the private key can control the coins associated with that address
  • Crypto wallets can be used to interact with the decentralized crypto network that manages and tracks virtual currency.

It is recommended you purchase a cold wallet for the most secure storage of your coins.

  • Cold wallet: a cryptocurrency wallet that is completely disconnected from the internet, meaning it stores your private keys offline, providing a high level of security against online hacking attempts by keeping your crypto assets isolated from potential cyber threats; essentially, it's a physical device like a credit-card-sized plastic device, a ring, or a USB drive that stores your crypto keys offline, making it ideal for long-term storage of large amounts of Kaspa.
  • Non-custodial wallets: Users don't need to share personal information to create a non-custodial wallet
  • Hosted wallets: Users may need to share personal information to create a hosted wallet
  • Hardware wallets: Physical devices that store private keys offline
  • Hot wallet: an online wallet

It depends where you bought your Kaspa. But, for the most part, you will first need to know your wallet address, then copy it into the Withdraw section where you purchased Kaspa, and send it to your wallet via the Kaspa mainnet.

To find your wallet address using a Tangem wallet, then you will need to login to your Tangem app, then "Search through the market" and type Kaspa. When it opens, add it to your portfolio. Once it is added to your portfolio, click Kaspa. Then click "Receive." It will show you a QR code as well as a long code of numbers and letters beneath it that starts with "kaspa:..." Beneath that is a button that says "Copy." Click this button. This will copy your wallet address to your clipboard.

After you have copied your wallet address to your clipboard, go to the exchange/swap where you purchased Kaspa. For instance, if you bought Kaspa using Kraken, then login to Kraken, click the Kaspa you purchased, then press "Withdraw." Some exchanges have a 5-7 day hold before you can withdraw. Others might let you do it immediately. You will be asked how much you want to transfer. If you want to transfer all of it, click MAX. You will sometimes be shown a drop-down box asking which network you prefer for transfer. Be sure you transfer it using the Kaspa mainnet. Then, paste (Ctrl+V on your keyboard on Windows or command+V on Mac) your address into the section that asks you for your wallet address.

Finally, click "Withdraw." That's it! You have safely transferred your Kaspa to your wallet.

A seed phrase is a series of words that acts as a key to access your cryptocurrency wallet. It is crucial for recovering your wallet if you lose access to it. Here are some key points about seed phrases:

  • Security: Seed phrases are designed to be secure, but they can be targeted by phishing attacks.
  • Common Terms: They may also be referred to as private keys or mnemonic phrases.
  • Backup: It's essential to keep your seed phrase safe and backed up, as losing it can mean losing access to your funds.

If you are new to seed phrases, it is recommended you begin your Wallet journey by reading this Wallet Guide for Beginners.
