Is Kaspa as secure as Bitcoin?
GHOSTDAG is mathematically a generalization of Nakamoto consensus — Bitcoin's consensus model — meaning Kaspa is theoretically as secure as Bitcoin without making any additional assumptions. Nakamoto consensus, the foundation Bitcoin is built on, assumes only that the majority of hashing power is honest. GHOSTDAG extends this same model to a blockDAG structure, where parallel blocks coexist rather than one being discarded, and it requires nothing beyond what Bitcoin already assumes. For a beginner, this means Kaspa's faster, parallel-block design doesn't trade away Bitcoin-level security — the two systems share the same theoretical foundation.
