Is Kaspa quantum resistant?
Kaspa is not quantum resistant today — and neither is virtually any other cryptocurrency. The cryptographic scheme that secures most blockchains, ECDSA, is completely broken against a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. While alternative post-quantum digital signature schemes exist, none are ready for production use: Lamport signatures are very space inefficient, and the leading candidates from NIST's post-quantum standardization process have not yet withstood enough cryptanalysis to be trusted — some runner-up candidates were already found to be exploitable. Even the most promising options require roughly ten times more on-chain storage in the best case. This matters for beginners because it means the entire cryptocurrency industry faces an unsolved security challenge, and no coin — including Kaspa — has a fully implemented, battle-tested answer yet.
