What is DAGKNIGHT?

DAGKNIGHT (DK) is a new consensus protocol for Kaspa, developed by the same researchers behind this improvement proposal, that is faster and more secure than the current GHOSTDAG protocol. Its defining property is "responsiveness" — the ability to adapt to real network conditions — combined with 50%-byzantine tolerance, meaning the network continues to operate honestly even if up to half of participants attempt to disrupt it. Unlike GHOSTDAG, which relies on a fixed hardcoded parameter k, DAGKNIGHT measures the actual k of the network in real time and adjusts accordingly. For a beginner, this means DAGKNIGHT can offer stronger, dynamically calibrated transaction finality without requiring the protocol rules to be manually changed.
