What is pruning and why does Kaspa use it?
Pruning is what keeps Kaspa's storage requirements bounded regardless of how old the chain gets. Without it, a blockDAG producing 10 blocks per second would accumulate data faster than a traditional single-chain blockchain, and storage costs would keep climbing indefinitely. Kaspa's design incorporates pruning specifically so that running a node stays within reach of ordinary users over the long term. For a beginner, this means you do not need ever-expanding storage just to participate in the Kaspa network.
