What makes proof-of-work transactions censorship-resistant?

Proof-of-work transactions are censorship-resistant because overriding them requires matching the entire network's total physical output. In a PoW system, transaction ordering is secured by real-world energy expenditure. Any government, corporation, or cartel that wants to rewrite or block transactions must deploy hardware and energy equivalent to the full honest network — a barrier that grows more expensive as the network grows. For a beginner, this is the core argument for why PoW advocates say the energy cost is not waste: it is the price of permissionless, uncensorable money.
