Why would I need a static IP address for my Kaspa node?

A static IP address ensures your Kaspa node always has the same internet address, so other nodes can reliably connect to it over time. Most home internet connections use a dynamic IP that can change every time your router restarts or whenever your ISP decides to reassign it — each change can silently break incoming connections to your node. The source recommends calling your ISP to find out whether you are behind their NAT (a shared address layer that can block connections even with port forwarding in place) and, if needed, purchasing a "static white IP" service that keeps your address fixed. This matters because without a stable, publicly routable IP, your node may drop off the network unexpectedly and require manual intervention to reconnect.
