How do Kaspa transaction fees change with the Toccata upgrade?

With Toccata activation, Kaspa's minimum fee rate rises from 1 sompi per gram to 100 sompi per gram. Fees in Kaspa are measured in sompi — the smallest unit of KAS — per gram of transaction weight. The new standard fee formula is 100 sompi multiplied by the maximum of compute grams or twice the transaction byte count. This change is already being enforced at the RPC transaction submission layer, meaning the network has been preparing for it ahead of the official activation. For most everyday users, wallets that rely on the built-in fee estimation API will adjust automatically, so the increase happens in the background without any action on your part.
